Семантика стійких біблійних порівнянь

Abstract

У статті розглянуто семантику стійких біблійних порівнянь, проаналізовано їхнє стилістичне навантаження, показано, які елементи картини світу давніх народів є реле- вантними для творців Святого Письма і відповідають меті забезпечити доступність змісту сакральних текстів для широкого кола реципієнтів, констатовано розвиток семантики окре- мих стійких порівнянь залежно від їх вживання у різних книгах Біблії.

Study of linguistic worldview is especially important at the present stage of linguistics development because it allows to discover how a language reflects features of the people’s life, their spirit, etc. Investigation of the Bible linguistic worldview is essential for deeper understanding of sacred texts and ensuring of their adequate translation into different languages. The Bible as a bookish work is characterized by presence of many means for creating imagery and comparison is one them. They are an inherent part of the Biblical texts. Many have linguists repeatedly addressed to studying the Bible’s language but most of their attention was focused on the study of the Biblical phraseology and semantics of lexeme symbols (H. Burdina, L. Hranovska, M. Demskyi O. Safronova, L. Shevchenko, E. Sikorska), syntactic features of the Holy Scripture text translations (A. Halas, T. Moroz, S. Kharchenko, S. Shabat), and their stylistic features (A. Horbach, M. Lesiuk). Comparative constructions in these and other works are mentioned only inter alios. However, we note that the Biblical comparisons can be characterized by the diversity of structure, semantics, and functions. A group of repeated comparisons, which represent key concepts of worldview of the peoples who were creators of the Bible and carry significant stylistic load, is distinguished among them. The article deals with the semantics of Biblical stable comparisons, analyzes their stylistic load, shows which elements of the ancient peoples’ worldview are relevant for the creators of the Holy Scripture and conform to the purpose of ensuring the availability of the sacred texts content for a wide range of recipients, and states development of semantics of individual stable comparisons depending on their use in different books of the Bible.
